Project on “Strengthening the Capacity of Research Ethics Committees in Africa” sponsored by the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) with co-funding from the European Commission. This was a partnership between 14 EU countries, Switzerland and Norway on one hand, and African countries on the other. The participating institutions in Nigeria were University of Ibadan/University College Hospital, Ibadan; Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife; Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi; and the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin. Prof. (Mrs) A. G. Falusi was Principal coordinator for Nigeria. (2006-2008).

Department for International Development (DFID) sponsored project on Development Partnerships in Higher Education (DelPHE). I was the Principal Coordinator for this project which had three partners, Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria; University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom. The project focused on HIV/AIDS Research and Policy. The Grant was for three years (2007-2010).

Consortium on Advanced Research and Training for Africa (CARTA) project funded by the Wellcome Trust, UK. Goal of the Project is to strengthen Postgraduate Education in African Universities. I am the Focal Person for Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. The Grant is for four years (2009-2013).

OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS TO PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT AND GRANTS SECURED BY THE UNIVERSITY.

  1. I was fully involved in the development of the proposal for the Second round (2006-2009) of Carnegie funding for the University. I read all the proposals and made critical suggestions. I also worked directly with the Centre for Industrial Research and Development in the development of the proposal from that Unit.
  2. I have, over the years, made useful contributions to the successful acquisition of grants and awards by many staff and students within and outside the College of Health Sciences. As Provost of the College of Health Sciences, I contributed to the implementation and renewal of the $1.25 million Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife/Bill and Melinda Gates Institute, Johns’ Hopkins University Baltimore Partnership Program for Population and Reproductive Health based in the Institute of Public Health of our College.
