  1. Awarded Commonwealth Medical Fellowship for the study of Community Dentistry at the University College London, London. October 1991 to September 1992.
  2. Appointed Visiting Scientist, Division of Community Dentistry, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. October 5 to November 15, 1997. This was made possible through an award by the University of the Witwatersrand strongly motivated from the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University.
  3. “Distinguished Visiting Scientist” award of the Medical Research Council of South Africa, and was attached to the Division of Community Dentistry, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa from April 1998 to March 1999.
  4. Appointed “Honorary Visiting Professor of Community Dentistry”, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. January 1, 2000 to date.
