Babatunde Odetoyin holds a PhD in Medical Microbiology from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. He is a Lecturer at the Department of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology. He investigates emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance in Nigeria. His research interests stem from his desire to generate robust data to guide interventions and possibly prolong the usefulness of available antibiotics in his environment where the burden of infectious diseases and resistance are major issues that affect the health of millions. With his research, he hopes to contribute to data that originate primarily from areas where these problems have not been extensively studied. He has published many papers in reputed journals and he is a reviewer for international journals.
