Olawole joined the Department of Geography, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Nigeria in June 2005 as graduate assistant and became Lecturer 1 in March 2013 after the completion of his PhD Programme. Prior to OAU appointment, he worked as education officer at Lagos State Model College Kankon, Badagry and Ikotun High School, Ikotun, Lagos, Nigeria.
Olawole’s key research interests include: travel behaviour, rural accessibility, mobility characteristics and constraints of the elderly, transport planning and methods, and the interrelationships between telecommunication and travel behavior.
He is a member of several professional organizations- the Association of Nigerian Geographers (ANG), African Association of Remote Sensing of the Environment (AARSE) and American Association of Geographers (AAG).
