Reliability - 1

This course will teach students the following:

  1. Introduction to Reliability: you will learn the basic theory of reliability and how to compute the reliability of items and items connected together in a system.
  2. Introduction to Electronic Equipment Design: you will learn about the concept of specifications and approaches to instrument design.
  3. Meeting Design Specifications: you will learn about tolerance and safety measures, redundancy, ergonomics, aesthetics and economics, and mitigating against adverse environmental conditions.
  4. Miniature Instrumentation: you will learn about miniature, micro and nano-instrumentation and the benefits of these.
  5. Computer Based Instrumentation: you will also learn about the use of microprocessors and microcontrollers in instrumentation, as well as virtual instrumentation.
