Ademuleya, BA, Filani OE.  2005.  Religious and Royal Uses of Sacred Textiles in Lagos,. Yoruba Religious Textiles: Essays in Honour of Cornelius Adepegba. , Ibadan: Book Builders Abstract

This is a research into cloth used in traditional religious practices, such as masquerades, cults and Shrines in Lagos. The study observed that while some old religious cloths are kept by families, cult groups and priests, other cloths have been replaced with contemporary manufactured textiles. it also revealed that some textile used in rituals or in specific ways are considered sacred not because they are consecrated but because they are associated with or represent royalty and hence are seen as objects of authority which also express spiritual powers i.e. garments used by the Oba, priests or priestesses etc.
