Dr. Solomon Olusegun Nwhator is a BDS graduate of the University of Lagos, Nigeria, a Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCDS - Periodontology)  the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS - Periodontology). Dr. Nwhator holds a PhD (Periodontology) of the University of Helsinki, Certificate in Leadership and management in Health of the University of Washington and a Masters in Public Administration. He teaches undergraduate periodontology/periodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife,Nigeria. He is also a postgraduate trainer and honorary consultant periodontologist to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife-Nigeria. He is the President of the Periodontologists' Association of Nigeria,  former Head of Science/Research of the Nigerian Dental Association and lead researcher, Periodontal Medicine Research Group. He is a frequent public speaker on periodontology and an external examiner in periodontology to Dental Schools within and outside Nigeria. ,He is a Christian, happily married with children and has been singing in the Church choir for several decades. He has been music director and Orchestra member and leader for decades. He plays the double bass, and enjoys gardening and odd jobs at home!
