BAMIWUYE, Samson Olusina is a Demographer and a Statistician with over 20 years of professional experience as a university lecturer, a researcher and as a consultant. I served as the acting Head of Department of Demography and Social Statistics, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Nigeria for two year (2009-2011); as the Vice-Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences in 2013/2014 academic session and as a member of Steering Committee of Population and Reproductive Health Programmes of OAU, IFE/Bill and Melinda Gates Partnership between August 1, 2009 and July31, 2011. I served as the Faculty of Social Sciences on the floor of University Senate for five years. Currently I teach Census Principles, Editing and Management, Demographic Techniques, Research Methodology, Monitoring and Evaluation of Population and Reproductive Health Programmes; Data Analysis and Statistics - both  at graduate and undergraduate levels. For several years I have been involved in capacity building in the area of Data Analysis and Research Methodology in many Nigerian Universities.  

I am a member of professional bodies like IUSSP, Population Association of America(PAA) International Sociological Association (ISA) Madrid Spain, Global Migration and Gender Network, Switzerland, Union of African Population Studies (UAPS) Population-Environment Research Network (PERN) and Population, Health and Development (PoHDev)

 I have attended several learning conferences both within and outside Nigeria where I made scholarly presentations. I have to my credit over thirty-seven (37) publications in local and international peer-reviewed journals. I have also completed over fifteen(15) technical reports for national and international organizations.
