Agunyai Samuel Chukwudi, acquired his PhD from Obafemi Awolowo University, a Master of Science in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Public Administration from University of Benin. In 2013, he was appointed as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Political Science and was promoted to the rank of lecturer II in 2017.

His main academic interests are in policy science, governance-focusing on accountability, local governance, rule of law, service delivery, political participation and representation. He also maintains a keen interest in prison governance and internal security-focusing mainly on human security. He has deep knowledge in Public Administration and Political Science Research Methodologies. He is a member of Nigerian Political Science Association, South-West (NPSA).

Recent publications include: 'Emerging Governance Crisis in Nigeria. In Adeniran Adebusuyi and Ikuteyijo Lanre (Eds), Africa Now: Emerging issues and Alternative Perspective. Springer Publication, Palgrave Macmillan, 2018; which reveals how politicians and their cohorts contributed immensely to governance crisis in Nigeria. He has supervised and co-supervised several undergraduate theses in Political Science. His teaching and lecturing capabilities are very deep as he has been lecturing Political Science since 2013 to First, Second, Third Year and Honours students in the following subjects: Political Thought, Research Methodology, Local Government and Politics, Public Personnel Management, Public Policy Analysis and Urban and Rural Administration.

Besides publishing several academic articles, Dr. Agunyai has presented academic papers at both national and international conferences, South-Africa. He has through the years acted as level adviser to undergraduate students and examiner to many Honours students.

He has flare for quantitative/mathematical related professional courses. He holds a certificate in Associate Accounting Technician Scheme of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
