Dr Adebanjo Adegbola is a fellow of European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership-Preparatory Fellowship. Through this fellowship, Dr Adegbola is currently developing expertise on genomics of malaria parasites with ongoing training and collaborative research with Dr Michael Alifrangis and Prof. Cally Roper at the Centre for Medical Parasitology, University of Copenhagen and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, respectively. He has been hosted at the University of Copenhagen for training in genomic analysis. Dr Adegbola is now investigating the molecular signatures of the dihydropteroate synthase (dhps) gene and the impacts of new dhps mutant alleles particularly, dhps-431V, on the protective efficacy of Intermittent Preventive Treatment during pregnancy using Sulphadoxine-Pyrimethamine.

This project (TMA2018PF-2537) is part of the EDCTP2 programme supported by the European Union
